Burning Eyes, titolo ispirato dal celebre poema di William Blake, Tyger tyger / burning bright / in the forest of the night è lo "stato" di un paesaggio sonoro più che una composizione,
ed ha a che vedere con cambiamenti lenti ma repentini, con textures in evoluzione, con un ecosistema di suoni e con la foresta per la quale è stato creato.
Presentato per la prima volta a mezzanotte in mezzo alla natura selvatica, a ridosso del confine tra Polonia e Repubblica Ceca, Burning Eyes è molto più di un pezzo per basso elettrico.
Alla melodia, Toeplitz predilige un mondo di movimenti sonici ed espressivi che si fondono con il silenzio; un mondo organico, creato dall’intersezione tra uno strumento derivato da un basso ed un complesso apparato elettronico.

Burning eyes, which title is inspired by the William Blake poem Tyger! Tiger! / burning bright / in the forests of the night, is more the "state" of a sonic landscape, than a composition.
It has to do with slow but abrupt changes, with evolving textures, with an eco-system of sounds and with the forest for which it was created.
Performed for the first time in Poland, at midnight, in the mid of the wild and close to the Czech border, Burning Eyes is then much more than a solo bass.
To the melody, Toeplitz priviledges a world of sonics and expressive movements that melt into the silence:
an organic world created by the intersection between a custom made instrument derived from a bass and live electronics.
